Terms of Service
Last updated 5 October 2026
Please read these terms carefully. In short: we're an independent, experimental service trying to help you find and apply for Civil Service jobs honestly. Our results can be wrong, the official advert always comes first, and you are responsible for what you submit.
1. About us and these terms
civilservicejobs.app ("the service", "we", "us") is run by DOCTRAN AI LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15257764).
By using the service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
2. We are independent and not official
We are not part of, endorsed by, or affiliated with the Civil Service, the Cabinet Office, GOV.UK, Civil Service Jobs, or any government department or employer.
Job information on this site is taken from publicly available adverts. The official advert is always the only authoritative source. You must read the full official advert and apply through the official route (usually Civil Service Jobs). We cannot submit applications for you and have no influence over any recruitment decision.
3. An experimental service: results can be wrong
The service is new and experimental. We are trying to help people find and apply for roles that suit them, and we are still learning and improving. Much of what you see is produced by automated tools, including software that reads job adverts and CVs. Automated results can be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or simply wrong.
In particular:
- Job matches, fit scores, grade estimates and gap analysis are suggestions, not assessments of whether you will succeed.
- Information we show about a job, such as security clearance, nationality rules, residency requirements, working pattern, salary or closing date, may be wrong or may have changed. Always check the official advert before relying on it or deciding not to apply.
- Jobs may close, be withdrawn or change before our listings update.
- We may miss jobs you would be suitable for.
The service does not give careers, legal, immigration, financial or professional advice. Nothing on it guarantees an interview, a job offer, or any other outcome.
4. Your applications must be your own and truthful
Civil Service job adverts allow candidates to use AI tools for support, but require every example and statement to be truthful, factually accurate and taken from your own experience. Applications that present others' or AI-generated experience as your own may be withdrawn, and existing civil servants may face disciplinary action.
Our tools are designed to help you organise and express your own real experience, not to invent it. You are responsible for everything you submit to any employer. Before you use anything from this service, check that it is accurate, true, and in your own words, and correct or remove anything that isn't. You are also responsible for following each employer's own rules on applications.
5. Who can use the service
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- The service is intended for people looking for Civil Service roles in the United Kingdom.
- CV uploads, accounts and paid features are available only to people in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. We check this from the country of your internet connection, so they may not work from abroad or through some VPNs.
- Only upload a CV or information that is yours, or that you have permission to share.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use bots, scrapers or automated means to access the service or copy its content;
- try to get around rate limits, security measures or access controls;
- upload malware, or files designed to disrupt or probe the service;
- upload someone else's CV or personal information without their permission;
- use the service to deceive an employer or to break any law;
- resell or commercially exploit the service without our written permission.
We may limit, suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms or puts the service or others at risk.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of your CV, answers, examples and anything else you give us ("your content"). You give us permission to use your content only to provide the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising.
8. Our content
The service's design, text, software and branding belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own personal job search. Job advert content remains the property of its owners; we link to the official advert rather than republishing it.
9. Paid features
Credit. Paid features use prepaid credit, which you add to your account by card through our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Prices are in pounds sterling. We aren't registered for VAT, so no VAT is added.
Prices. Each paid feature shows its price before it runs, and credit is only taken if you confirm. If a feature fails or doesn't produce a result because of a fault on our side, the credit goes back to your balance. Your balance and every transaction are shown on your account page.
Credit doesn't expire, and isn't money held for you: it can only be used for features on this service, and can't be transferred or exchanged for cash, except by a refund as described below.
Refunds. You can ask for a refund of unused credit at any time through our contact form. We refund it to the card you paid with. This goes beyond your 14-day right to cancel under UK consumer law. Credit you've spent is for a digital service you asked us to start straight away, so once that service has been provided it can't be cancelled. This doesn't affect your statutory rights if a paid service is faulty or not as described.
If you delete your account, any unused credit is lost, so please ask for a refund first. If we ever stop offering paid features, we'll refund unused credit.
10. Changes and availability
We may change, suspend or stop any part of the service at any time, including free features, and we don't promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. If we stop a paid feature you have paid for and not yet received, we will refund you for the part you haven't received.
11. Our responsibility to you
The free service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows:
- we are not responsible for decisions you make based on the service, including whether to apply for a job, or for the outcome of any application;
- we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for indirect losses such as lost opportunities, earnings or time;
- we are not responsible for the content of official adverts or other websites we link to;
- our total liability to you for anything relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £50 if you have not paid us anything.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using the service at any time and, once accounts are available, delete your account and data from your account settings or by contacting us. We may end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
13. Changes to these terms, and the law that applies
We may update these terms. The "last updated" date shows when. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you before it applies to paid features you have bought.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
